I’m in love with these Adobe pillows!

I really want a Photoshop and Dreamweaver one to cuddle with…and a Flash one to beat up :]
And they’re handmade, which makes them even more awesome.

Planners

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

So since one of my new years resolutions is to be more organized,
I think it’s time I start using a planner.
I’ve had a couple in the past…i would always start using it then stop after a week or two.
I think it was because I would buy one I didn’t like, and get bored of how plain it was.
So i set off to find a cute, creative, inexpensive planner.

Initially I was going to buy an oh-so-popular Moleskine:

I can see why it’s so popular…stylish, simple, classic. I like the pocket weekly planner with notebook section. But for me it missed the mark in the creative department, I wanted something a bit different.

I came across the Non-Planner Datebook which I was immediately attracted to because of its creative hand drawn pages, lack of structure, and inspiring organization such as an outline of a hand with spaces in the fingers to keep track of “things to remember.” If only it included a weekly layout of some sort!

Going with the “cute” theme, i found the Aquatic Adventure Weekly Planner. The artwork is adorable…the weekly layout pages have an underwater theme, and it includes cute stickers. Also, both this one and the Non-Planner Datebook are printed on 100% recycled paper with soy-based inks, which is definitely a plus.

The Papergeist Undated Planner is one of the most eco-friendly notebooks I found. I like the fact that the covers are made from recycled album covers, and they’re customizable with the pages being either blank, lined, lined with days of the week, or with to-do lists.

Then I found just what I was looking for. The Slingshot Organizer. Pocket-sized, hand-drawn, comes in over 20 colors, and only 6 bucks…sweet. It has calendar pages, weekly planner pages, a place for phone numbers, and note pages. It includes a bunch of stuff you wouldn’t find in a normal planner…such as important activist dates in history, how to deal with government repression, a sign language alphabet, and how to make homemade hygiene products. I definitely can’t see myself getting bored with this one. Plus I love supporting DIY. I bought a pocket sized one in lime green :]
