my favorite clothes are ones that i got from thrift stores, and handmade. and cut up t-shirts and old band shirts. my favorite shoes are the ones that i got secondhand, that someone already wore. they’re more comfortable and i find myself wearing them a whole lot more than the couple pairs of new shoes i own. diamonds are not my best friend & i don’t like fancy jewelry. i don’t like receiving chocolate and/or flowers. i much rather have a hand written letter or new music. i cringe at the idea of buying something brand new. i cringe at the idea of spending unnecesary amounts of money on something. i can’t bring myself to pay someone to wash my feet & paint my toenails…and call it a fancy name like “pedicure.” i don’t need my cell phone to be able to do the same things as my computer so it’s another distraction. i find myself caring less and less about “stuff” and more about doing, creating, and love. because at the end of the day, stuff is just stuff. that’s it. dreams, friends, & family are real. fuck stuff.

this vintage sticker caught my eye while my family and i were going through some things at my grandmother’s house. in my father’s old room, a bunch of posters & things were still hung up on the walls…including this. my dad explained the story of when he was a teenager and they were protesting the nuclear weapons. he let me have the sticker, i very much enjoy old stuff like this.

Spring spring spring. There’s nothing better than walking outside without a jacket on. My nine year old cousin Paige gave me the flower print headscarf, Isn’t she the sweetest? And my new favorite thing is wearing large band t-shirts with a section bunched up in a hair tie to make it shorter. I’m rockin’ my new organic cotton Propagandhi tee.
