i’ve been a bad blogger lately.
but- there is a reason for that! i’ve been busy working on a couple projects…which i will write about soon.
(they’re pretty cool & i’m way excited!!)
also, adding to & editing my portfolio & identity is keeping me busy as well.
i am not allowing myself to get overwhelmed!

This is wayyy overdue.
So, I participated in Self-Stitched September after reading about it in a DIY blog. Even though most of the things I wear on a daily basis are handmade by myself or someone else or second hand..i thought it would be fun to do & see how much i actually do wear handmade things. Also, I wanted to give myself a huge push to make more clothes for myself.
In September I also started a new job. I realized that I didn’t have a lot of business casual/dressy/work clothes AT ALL. Also at this time I was low on funds so instead of buying myself a whole new wardrobe I refashioned old clothes I already had, sewed some things from scratch, dug into my piles of old clothes I plan on selling/donating, and bought clothes from thrift stores.
I didn’t make as many clothes as i wanted to (due to said new job) but here’s what i did make:

this was a bit difficult, the fabric has no stretch whatsoever!
I’ve been working on updating the site, mainly the blog portion of it and fully converting everything to WordPress. It’s all pretty now so when you click on individual posts it won’t take you to an ugly white page that’s not in my layout…yeah it only took me forever to take the leap and finish setting up the blog the right way…!
Everything’s done except the Folio page which i’m still pondering over…or should i call it “archive?” hmmm. I’m not sure how exactly i’m going to organize it but i know i’m going to have design/photography/drawings (artwork?)/diy. For now it’s just the “design” portion.
yay for progress.
So, I’ve been slacking on updating. I know, I know. Why? because of my recent move to Connecticut. I moved into my huge new apartment (townhouse!), that I’ll be living in for the summer & my last year of school. (along with my two rad roomies) I don’t have to worry about finding a seasonal job, which is awesome. I’m working the job I already have during the school year, the campus computer help desk. I like it here, I’m really close to town and the grocery store is even in walking distance. I just hope I don’t miss the Long Island summers too much….

Woah…it’s about time i give my blog a much needed update. I got lazy with it after it was hacked into (and ended up messing up my whole site) and had to be deleted. I started over and switched to WordPress, and so far everything is going smoothly….and I finally figured out how to customize everything (still needs some work though.)
I plan on posting a few times a week…i’ll be updating later tonight or tomorrow!
